She was meant to be the first of a trio of super ships Germany hoped to capture the North Atlantic ferry service with. World War II saw her laid up with her sisters. In 1920 she was ceded to Britain, sold to Cunard and renamed Berengaria. Boissevain by Viking I'll bet you haven't seen this before
Boissevain by Viking THIS MODEL IS OUT OF SCALE. THE SHIPS WERE 559' LONG; THE MODEL IS 6.75" LONG. Boissevain and her sisters Tegelberg and Ruys were liners built in 1937 for the Dutch company Royal Interocean Lines. They served from the mother country to South Africa, Dutch Indonesia and Japan. All three served as Allied troop ships in World War II and all three survived until 1968 when broken up. This model appears to be a prewar Viking model made to be sold aboard the trio as souvenirs the model has its masts etc. but is very badly chipped and needs a new paint job. On the other hand it is a very rare model from one of our hobbies earliest producers. Our price $50

It shows signs of wear and does contain some paint chips although the casting itself is undamaged. Mercury models like the British Triangs has developed a following in the collectibles market. Laid down to conforn to the Washington treaty, she proved too small for Pacfic Fleet service. She spent most of WW2 in the Atlantic. This is a rare OOP model.
