Quistconck 1918 401’ USSB
Name ship of the famous World War I, 110 Hog Island class of freighters. The ships built in what was then the largest shipyard in the world and served as the backbone for the American merchant fleet between the world wars. Quistconck was sunk in December 1941 as a lend lease British transport. Some of her sisters served through the Korean War and lasted well into the 1960s. USS Vega 1921(1919) 401’ US NAVY Vega was constructed as a hog Island freighter in 1919. She was commissioned into the US Navy in 1921 as a Sirus class cargo ship. She was present during the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1941 and was unloading of cargo of ammunition at that base! Had the Japanese pilots targeted her, they could have wiped out half the Harbor that morning. She earned four battle stars during the war and was decommissioned and sold for scrap in 1946. The model is just over four inches long and made of Resmet, a resin/ metal casting material. When the model is purchased from us it will be shipped to you with rigging.

Penscann 1919(1927) In 1927 the Hog Island freighter Bird City was taken in hand with three of her sisters and converted into small passenger liners to be used by their subsidiary American Scantic Lines for US ~ Baltic routes. By the outbreak of World War II the ship had been sold to Brazil and was sunk in February 1942. The model is just over four inches long and made of Resmet, a resin/ metal casting material.
